Soft Jelly Candle Wax

Jelly wax is a man-made material composed of mineral oil and polymer compounds, prized for its fully transparent appearance and primarily decorative role in candle making. This soft variant has a melting point of 68°C and a recommended pour temperature of 120-130°C, and is most often used for container-style jelly candles.

Because jelly wax has a relatively high melting point and takes longer to fully liquefy, slow heating over low heat is recommended, since excessive heat causes smoking. Stirring should always be done with a stainless steel tool rather than wood, to avoid introducing extra air bubbles.

Heating below 100°C leaves many bubbles present; the wax becomes fully clear and bubble-free between 130-140°C, while temperatures above 150°C cause yellowing, so careful temperature control is essential.

Storage Store candles in a cool, dark, and dry place. Excessive heat or direct sunlight may cause the candle surface to melt, which can affect the scent throw and result in insufficient fragrance release when lit.
Lighting Before lighting the candle, trim the wick to 5–8 mm. During the first burn, allow it to burn continuously for 2–3 hours. Candles develop a "burn memory" — if the first burn does not melt the wax evenly around the wick, the candle will continue to burn only in a narrow tunnel around the wick afterward.
Extending Burn Time Keep the wick trimmed to 5–8 mm. Trimming helps the candle burn evenly, prevents black smoke, and reduces soot on the candle container. Each burn session should last at least 2 hours but no longer than 4 hours. For longer use, extinguish the candle every 4 hours, trim the wick back to 5 mm, and relight it.
Extinguishing the Candle Never blow out a candle with your mouth, as this can damage the candle, produce black smoke, and turn the pleasant fragrance into an unpleasant smoky odor. Instead, use a candle snuffer or a wick dipper to submerge the wick into the melted wax. Stop burning the candle when less than 2 cm of wax remains to prevent overheating and reduce the risk of the container cracking.
Important Notes Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep lit candles out of reach of children and pets. Protect your furniture — candles become very hot after about 3 hours of burning, so avoid placing them directly on furniture. The candle lid can be used as a heat-resistant coaster.
