Pre-Tabbed Cotton Candle Wick with Adhesive Sustainer

Pre-cut cotton wicks with a metal sustainer base already crimped and fitted, and with an adhesive backing on the sustainer base that allows direct placement onto the bottom of a candle vessel without additional tools or wax-drop centering. This format significantly reduces production time per candle in container-filling workflows.

The adhesive backing on the sustainer holds the wick in position during wax pouring, eliminating the floating or drifting that can occur with unsecured wicks in high-fragrance or liquid wax pours. Once the wax sets, the sustainer is embedded and the wick remains centered through the full burn life of the candle.

The cotton braid is pre-waxed for handling rigidity and burns with a clean, controlled flame and minimal carbon buildup. The wick lengths are available in standard increments (typically 10cm, 15cm, 20cm) to suit different candle fill depths.

Suitable for high-throughput container candle production, small studio use, and retail craft supply. The pre-tabbed format reduces the barrier to entry for new candle makers and improves consistency in production environments where wick placement is a quality variable.

Storage Store candles in a cool, dark, and dry place. Excessive heat or direct sunlight may cause the candle surface to melt, which can affect the scent throw and result in insufficient fragrance release when lit.
Lighting Before lighting the candle, trim the wick to 5–8 mm. During the first burn, allow it to burn continuously for 2–3 hours. Candles develop a "burn memory" — if the first burn does not melt the wax evenly around the wick, the candle will continue to burn only in a narrow tunnel around the wick afterward.
Extending Burn Time Keep the wick trimmed to 5–8 mm. Trimming helps the candle burn evenly, prevents black smoke, and reduces soot on the candle container. Each burn session should last at least 2 hours but no longer than 4 hours. For longer use, extinguish the candle every 4 hours, trim the wick back to 5 mm, and relight it.
Extinguishing the Candle Never blow out a candle with your mouth, as this can damage the candle, produce black smoke, and turn the pleasant fragrance into an unpleasant smoky odor. Instead, use a candle snuffer or a wick dipper to submerge the wick into the melted wax. Stop burning the candle when less than 2 cm of wax remains to prevent overheating and reduce the risk of the container cracking.
Important Notes Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep lit candles out of reach of children and pets. Protect your furniture — candles become very hot after about 3 hours of burning, so avoid placing them directly on furniture. The candle lid can be used as a heat-resistant coaster.
